Helsinki's Mayor for the term 2021–2025 is Juhana Vartiainen (kokoomus).

The Mayor leads the City and serves as chairperson of the City Board. The Deputy Mayors serve as chairpersons of the division committees and are members of the City Board. The City Council elects the Mayor and Deputy Mayors among the councillors for the duration of the electoral period.
