The Rescue Committee is responsible for decision-making concerning the Rescue Department’s duties. The Rescue Committee, Rescue Commander and other office holders appointed by the Rescue Commander are rescue authorities of the Helsinki Rescue Department.
The City Council appoints the Rescue Committee’s members and Chairs for the City Council’s period of office.
The Rescue Committee has nine members. Each member has a personal deputy member.
