Urban Environment Committee

The Urban Environment Committee is responsible for overseeing the Urban Environment Division’s duties, including city planning, detailed planning, traffic and street planning, and other land use.

The Helsinki City Council appoints the Urban Environment Committee’s members, deputies and Vice Chair.

The Urban Environment Committee has 13 members. The Committee is chaired by the Deputy Mayor for Urban Environment.

The Committee also has two Sub-committees:

• Buildings and Public Areas Sub-committee
• Environment and Permits Sub-committee
