The Youth Sub-committee of the Culture and Leisure Committee sets goals for the relevant services, monitors their realisation and submits a statement to the Culture and Leisure Committee on the performance budget and action plan. Additionally, the Sub-committee handles the responsibilities related to allocating grants for the implementation of youth activities and youth policy. It also monitors the realisation of the young people’s influence system Ruuti and young people’s right of initiative in Helsinki.
The City Council appoints the sub-committees’ members, deputies and Chairs from among its actual members for the City Council’s period of office.
The Sub-committee has nine members. Each member has a personal deputy member.
